An unexpected romance between two quirky and guarded 40-something biochemists is tested through trials of bizarre family encounters and revelations of tragic personal histories in this dark romantic comedy Pursued by Happiness based on the play by Keith Huff, the author of the Broadway hit A Steady Rain.


     Keith Huff (Screenwriter) is a renowned playwright, screenwriter and a 2011 Writers Guild Award winner (Best Drama Series) and a 2014 Writers Guild Award winner (Best New Series). He is most recognized for writing A Steady Rain, which premiered in Chicago and went on to be produced on Broadway by Barbara Broccoli starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. He is currently in development with Ms. Broccoli on the film adaptation of A Steady Rain. In addition, Keith was a writer/producer for Mad Men (AMC's Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award and Writers Guild Best Drama Series award winner) and House of Cards (Netflix’s Emmy Award winner, 2014 Golden Globe nominated Best Television Series-Drama, and 2014 Writers Guild award winner for Best New Series). He recently penned the second season of Full Circle for DirectTV. His past collaborations include the Syfy series Helix and his box office hit play Big Lake Big City produced at the Lookingglass Theatre Company and directed by David Schwimmer. He is also writing an original screenplay Kill Switch for Alexandra Milchan (EMJAG Films), the cable series Why We Fight for Steven Spielberg/Dreamworks TV and AMC, and a screenplay for Plan B Entertainment (Brad Pitt founder). Keith is in development with Dark Yard Films on a film adaptation of his play Pursued by Happiness.


     Seth Boggess (Director) is an award-winning film director and producer, an award-winning film composer and a published classical composer whose artistic focus attempts to shed light and understanding upon the common human experience. He is the founder of Dark Yard Films along with his wife, Producer Natasha Warloe, and Producer Christopher B. B. Warloe.

     He began composing music for theater and film at the age of sixteen before attending and graduating with honors from Berklee College of Music. While working as an audio engineer in New York City he contributed to such films as Intolerable Cruelty (Universal), Ladykillers (Touchstone Pictures), Kinsey (Fox Searchlight) and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (New Line). He has scored numerous shorts including the Slamdance 2013 official selection Lollywood (Obrigado Productions), Tribeca and Chicago International 2013 official selection AB- (A Daniel Klein film), Yawn (Relentless Filmworks), feature films including The Gadarene Swine (I & Y Productions), and incidental music for various projects including the Lenny Kravitz video Let Love Rule (Justice Mix).

     His other film credits include production manager for the feature film Cartel War (Tumbleweed & Relentless Filmworks) and writer/director of the short film Left Alone (Dark Yard Films) based on the Anton Chekhov short story Misery.

     Seth's accolades include winning Best Short for Left Alone at the Beaufort International Film Festival, Gold Medal for Excellence in Original Music for Left Alone at the Park City Film Music Festival, Audience Choice Award for Left Alone at the Landlocked Film Festival, 2nd Place in the Short Film Category for Left Alone at the Landlocked Film Festival, the Audience Choice Award for Left Alone at the Route 66 Film Festival, and Left Alone also garnered 2 awards for lead actor Paul Noble at the NYC PictureStart Film Festival (Special Jury Award and Best Actor 2nd Runner Up).

     Seth is currently in development on several feature length projects including Keith Huff's Pursued by Happiness and his own original feature Sanctum of Thieves.


     Natasha Warloe (Producer) has a theatre background that began at a very early age growing up performing in Normal, Illinois. She went on to graduate from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University with her BFA in Acting, worked with Columbia University’s MFA directing program, and studied with the Moscow Art Theater School (MXAT) at the American Repertory Theatre, Harvard University. After many years as an actor in New York City and Boston she is delighted to be at the artistic helm of Dark Yard Films with partners Seth Boggess and Christopher B. B. Warloe. She produced the awarding winning short film Left Alone with Producing Partner Christopher and Director/Writer Seth. Left Alone was viewed around the world in twenty film festivals and invited screenings and garnered seven festival awards including Best Short at the Beaufort International Film Festival, Audience Choice Awards at Route 66 International Film Festival and Landlocked Film Festival (also receiving 2nd Place Best Short), Best Actor 2nd Runner Up and a Special Jury Award to Paul Noble (Lead Actor) at the NYC Picture Start Film Festival, and Winner - Gold Medal for Excellence in Original Music at Park City Film Music Festival for Seth Boggess. Natasha is in development with Writer's Guild Award winning writer Keith Huff on the film adaptation of his play Pursued by Happiness.


     Christopher B.B. Warloe (Producer) was born in Normal, IL. Starting dance lessons at the age of four, he was cast in his first musical at five. A graduate of Millikin University with a BFA in Acting, he studied playwriting at London University, where he produced his play A Perfect Crime, and musical theatre at NYU TSOA. A few of his favorite gigs were singing the national anthem for the Toronto Blue Jays and performing as a featured vocalist for the Chicago Bears halftime show. As the Production Assistant at Musical Theatre Works in NYC, he assisted in development of new musicals working with many Grammy, Emmy, Tony and Pulitzer award nominees and recipients. Regionally he has directed several productions such as The Wizard of Oz, Damn Yankees, The Secret Garden and two original shows; Putting It Together and A Musical Review. Christopher is a founding member of Beyond That Theatre and forever proud of his company’s debut play Mojo hailed by the Chicago Reader as “Even more ass kicking than the Steppenwolf premier.”

     His company, Dark Yard Films, has enjoyed much success with their short film Left Alone. It garnered seven awards on the festival circuit including best short at Beaufort International, audience choice at both Route 66 and Landlocked Film Festival, along with playing at the Short Film Corner at Cannes. As a producer, Christopher is now in development with Writers Guild Award Winner, Keith Huff on a feature film adaptation of his play Pursued by Happiness for Dark Yard Films.
